Welcome to Day 2 of the Season XVI WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic. This $10,000 buy-in event is the final event of the season and the winner will earn entry into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions where more than $300,000 in cash and prizes will be added. After Sunday’s Day 1, the field size tallied in at 150 entries. Two-time WPT champion Kevin Eyster (pictured) finished atop the advancing pack with 175,500 in chips. Sixty-two players advanced to Day 2.

Day 2 will begin at 12 p.m. local time on Monday, May 21, at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Registration remains open until the start of Day 2, and anyone who busted can reenter once.

Eyster is chasing a bit of history in this event. With two WPT titles already notched on his belt, Eyster could become the sixth player in World Poker Tour history to win a third WPT title. If that happens, Eyster would join WPT greats Carlos Mortensen, Gus Hansen, Anthony Zinno, Chino Rheem, and Darren Elias with three WPT titles.

Elias and Zinno also in this event and made it to Day 2, with 68,500 and 30,400 in chips, respectively. Either one of them could become the first player to win four WPT titles.

Joe McKeehen finished second in chips and has a chance to overtake Art Papazyan in the Hublot WPT Player of the Year race to win the prestigious title in the very last event of Season XVI. Phil Hellmuth, WPT Raw Deal host, also has an outside shot at winning Hublot WPT Player of the Year, but he has yet to show up to play in the WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic. That said, Hellmuth is known to show up late and will likely be in the field to start Day 2.

Also advancing to Day 2 were WPT Champions Club members Jonathan Little (149,400), Ryan Tosoc (147,500), Jared Jaffe (140,900), Dietrich Fast (113,400), Justin Young (108,800), Seth Davies (72,100), Erik Seidel (69,800), Dominik Nitsche (61,700), Scott Clements (52,700), Dylan Wilkerson (51,500), Andy Frankenberger (46,200), Brian Altman (28,800), Mike Del Vecchio (27,100), Nick Schulman (19,200), Daniel Weinman (16,700), and Jesse Sylvia (14,400).

Day 2 of the event takes place starting at 12 p.m. PT on Monday. Registration remains open until the start of Day 2, and anyone who busted is allowed one reentry. Stay tuned to WPT.com for continued coverage of the World Poker Tour.
