WPT Invitational Winner Van Nguyen Eliminated
Van Nguyen was eliminated when she moved her short stack all in with K-Q suited, and another player called with A-J offsuit. Her opponent made two pair, and Nguyen missed her gutshot straight draw on the river.
Van Nguyen was eliminated, and that's one fewer player in the hunt for the Season VI WPT Player of the Year award. For those who don't know, Van Nguyen is the wife of Men "The Master" Nguyen, and the first female to win a mixed WPT tournament.
Miscellaneous: Durrrr's Hats, Seif's Baby, and Brother vs. Brother
Tom "Durrrr" Dwan is wearing a frilly pink feather hat today, as part of his continuing punishment for prop betting Alan "TheUsher" Sass that he would be on time yesterday. (Dwan was late.) Dwan is doing well (about 160,000 in chips), which is a mixed blessing. For losing the bet, Dwan needs to wear whatever hat Sass brings him each day that he is in the tournament.
Actually, the hats that Tom Dwan has worn these first two days look a lot like the hats that J.J. Liu sometimes wears. But she's able to pull it off much more fashionably.
Mark Seif is still waiting for the birth of his child. His wife has been dilated and ready to give birth for many days now, but the baby hasn't decided to come yet. Seif continues to check his cellphone for updates from his wife, and if the baby doesn't come in another day or two, they might induce labor. Seif currently has a slightly below-average stack around 65,000.
Nam Le was originally seated at the same table as his brother, Allen, but they were separated because they were in the same family. Some tournament directors separate family members, while others let the random draw fall where it may. There are good arguments for both sides, but regardless, Nam Le and his brother are now separated.
