Kunal Patni
A winner will be crowned in the record-setting Season 20 WPT Prime Camboya $1,100 El evento principal está listo. De un campo de 1,050 entries, contenders from seven different countries will battle for the biggest piece of the $1,018,500 prize pool in the biggest WPT live poker event in Asia as of 1pm local time at the five-star NagaWorld Integrated Resort in the heart of Phnom Penh.
The seven-figure prize pool is the biggest for a live poker event in the history of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It is also the largest field of the new mid-stakes poker circuit in the third edition and continues the path set by the former WPTDeepStacks tour in the 20Temporada del 5º aniversario del World Poker Tour.
A top prize of $168,760 y agregó $10,400 entry to the WPT World Championships awaits for the eventual champion and Taiwan's Chi Jen "Justin" Chu will return as the chip leader. Chu dominated most of Day 2 and concluded the action last night by sending WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer from India to the tail as he finished with 8,615,000 en patatas fritas.
Two players from India remain in contention and will aim to bring fierce competition to the grand finale, following into the footsteps of Zarvan Tumboli and Ashish Munot in Hanoi at the end of the May. Kunal Patni sits in second place with 6,640,000 en fichas mientras Ankit Jajodia (2,990,000) was one of two players to survive two starting days and has already added the $1,810 Mínimo efectivo para agregar a su currículum como un pequeño impulso a su bankroll.
The only other country with two representatives on the final table is the nearby island of Philippines. Junnie Pamlona (4,275,000) y David Erquiaga (2,895,000) are right in the middle of the pack.
While Asian players were responsible for large portions of the overall field, several Europeans living in the region took a shot and one of them made it to the final table as well in Jean Robert Autran (3,735,000).
Last but not least there is trio of short stacks at the bottom of the leaderboard including Hoang Van Nguyen (1,005,000), Patrick Soh (680,000) y Ji Jun Xu (625,000). All of them have fewer than 15 grandes ciegas a su disposición con 31 minutos restantes en el nivel 26 en las persianas de 40,000-80,000 y una apuesta ciega grande de 80,000, which promises action right from the get-go.
Besides the five and six-figure cash prizes, another scenario will unfold during today's final table as well:
Después 18 de 23 qualifying events of the series, second-placed Patni sits in third place of the Player of the Festival (POF) ranking with 600 points. Vietnam's Trong Hieu Ngo (825 points) holds the top spot for now ahead of Duy Ho (650 points), who won this very leaderboard during the inaugural WPT Prime stop at the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The winner of this ranking receives a package worth $5,000 for a WPT Main Tour stop and Patni's chances as second in chips are certainly evident as plenty of points are up for grabs. All finalists also earn points towards the Season 20 WPT leaderboard as well, while the winner is granted a $10,400 entry to the WPT World Championships at the end of the year on top of the $168,760 premio en efectivo.
