The biggest event of the series so far, the WPT Mini Main Event Championship, will see the final day commence tonight, rounding off four thrilling nights of poker over on partypoker.com. There were 4,600 hopefuls at the start but just nine are still in with a shot of that enormous $758,312 top prize and Liviu-Rodrig Bartha will have the biggest chip-advantage when he and the rest of the finalists sit down to resume their battle to become the next WPT Champion.
Daniel Dvoress
Just two would see a return for their buy-in, and both of those players hailed from Canada, with Daniel Dvoress eclipsing countryman Pascal Lefrancois at the end. Dvoress scooped almost five times his buy-in with $24,688 collected for first, for Lefrancois it was a 300% return with $15,312 the runner-up prize.
Artur Martirosian (3rd) bubbled, and Thomas Muehloecker (4(es), Alex Foxen (5th), Sami Kelopuro (6th), Sergi Lloveras Reixach (7th) and first-to-bust Scott Margereson all took part too.
$530 Nocaut Mix-Max ($100K-GTD)
Running at the same time were two Mix-Max events and 199 entries meant the field was one player short of reaching the guarantee in the Main. Alessandro Giannelli, an Italian but playing from Malta, took the top spot after the seven-hour event wrapped up following his victory over Cinzia Anzaldi ($8,854). The portion each won from the main prize pool was miniscule in its difference with only $10 separating them ($8,864 versus $8,854), but the bounties were another matter, with Giannelli clocking up $14,562 compared with Anzaldi’s $3,109.
Evaldas Aniulis ($6,095 +$1,875), Patrick Hyllegaard Pedersen ($4,460 +$1,812) and Matthew Eardley ($3,286 +$937) all featured in the top five. Lukas Wimmer (6el, $2,485 +$312) did well to reach the final table too, though unbeknownst to him he would do even better in a subsequent event.
Twenty-seven places were paid and Anton Wigg’s departure on the bubble, secured the rest of the field at least $556 from the main prize pool. Wigg accrued $500 in bounties, almost enough to break even but plenty of well-known players saw a profit, with Barry Hutter (25el, $556 +$593), François Billard (22y, $582 +$312), Christopher Andler (14el, $607 +$1,187) and Jamie O’Connor ($1,367 +$750) in the mix too.
$109 Mini Mix-Max Knockout ($75K-GTD)
La 748 runners may have been two away from reaching the guarantee, but it was still a big field to overcome, with Goekhan Oezbey doing just that and taking $5,078 from the main prize pool as well as $3,974 collected from knockouts. Karim Maekelberg did their best to prevent it but that had to settle for second place and $5,070 +$1,468 por el resultado.
Jan Bednar ($3,798 +$1,602), Sergei Volotko ($2,784 +$282), Robert Shields ($1983 +$1,797), Deividas Daubaris ($1,442 +$954) and Tan Luan Le ($988 +$973) all did enough to make it to the final, a position that no doubt would have been particularly enviable for Krajner Tibor ($727 +$715) who bubbled a seat.
Also found among the top 96 paid, were online specialist Jonathan Clark (30el, $208 +$0), partypoker’s Renato Nomura (53rd, $136 +$100) and David Ivers ($117 +$50).
$1,050 7-Máximo ($100K-GTD)
The day before, Jans Arends had finished runner up in the $530 Big Game, this time he went the distance, locking up a first-place finish and adding $21,735 Al $46,233 he had won the previous night.
The Dutchman came out on top of the 97 entries, doing a deal with runner up Nick Marchington to take the title and the trophy after the heads-up match brought seven and a half hours of play to an end. The Brit banked $21,564, significantly more than Jonathon Wall’s $12,450 cash for coming third.
Belgian pro Thomas Boivin ($8,800) took fourth and Alexey Romanov ($6,250) took fifth place, with Roman Krajča ($5,000) and WPTDeepStacks Berlin champion Daniel Szymanski ($4,200) all featuring on the final table too.
High stakes regular Sami Kelopuro (8th) bubbled a seat and won $3,500, the same amount as Anthony Spinella did for 9º lugar. Luc Greenwood (11el, $2,900) y Bertil Andreas Samuelsson (12el, $2,400) también se encontraban entre los 14 places paid. Alexandru Papazian bubbled in 15th place, joining the likes of Steve O’Dwyer (17th), Arsenii Karmatckii (20th), Simon Mattsson (25th) and Matas Cimbolas (26th) at the rail.
$215 Mini 7-Máximo ($50K-GTD)
Lukas Wimmer was the victor in the Mini event and though the buy-in was less, it was still a very distinguished field he had to see off in order to do it. One of his toughest opponents was partypoker’s Patrick Leonard who had to settle for runner up. This is the latest in a string of results that the Brit has enjoyed this series. No deal was agreed so Wimmer banked the full $10,752 prize for first place as Leonard took $7,666 para el segundo
Patrick Leonard
Harpreet Padda ($5,393), Matthew Eardley ($3,704) and Jérémy Saderne ($2,537) completed the top five. Saderne notably adding another deep run after taking down the $530 Second Chance PKO for $21,031 only the night before; Eardley making his second final table of the evening.
Marton Czuczor ($1,904) and Evgeny Evdokimov ($1,487) took the last two final table spots. Established players such as Jerry Ödeen (11el, $973), Tyler Goatcher (29el, $471) y Tomi Brouk (35el, $471). Brouk inched into the money with 35 del 259 entries paid, after Jose Abreu bubbled in 36el lugar.
$22 Micro 7-Máximo ($25K-GTD)
Over in the Micro event and 1,334 registrations meant the guarantee was beaten with a total prize pool of $26,680. Rising to the top was Brazilian Thiago Silva, winning $4,433 after defeating his heads-up opponent Edgar Rachi, who added $3,034 to his bankroll for his result.
$215 6-Max Turbo PKO ($50K-GTD)
The last two events gave turbo and PKO fans something to get their teeth stuck into, with a combination of the two elements on the menu in one tasty package. The Main attracted 249 entries and of those, it was Oskar Prehm ($4,385 +$3,882) who outlasted them all, taking the title after five hours of poker action. Anthony Spinella was the latest player to have a double result last night and this was the bigger of the two with $4,380 +$1,654 the prize for coming runner up.
Emanuele Monari ($3,039 +$1,039) took bronze, and Marius Kudzmanas (4el, $2,225 +$1,050), Sönke Jahn (5el, $1,619 +$1,262), Vitor Abreu (6el, $1,208 +$350) and Luigi D'alterio (7el, $884 +$325) all made the final too, with Jérémy Saderne (8el, $669 +$928) just missing out on his second final table of the night.
$22 Mini 6-Max Turbo PKO ($20K-GTD)
The Mini event had another four-figure field, with 1,039 entries logged by the time late registration had closed. Béla Tóth ($1,313 +$1,537) was the one left standing once the dust had settled. The victory came after taking out Diogo Gomes who had a great run too, taking him all the way to second place, which was worth $1,310 +$170.

Just over three-quarters of a million dollars are up for grabs for the winner and nine remain in contention of a truly life-changing amount of money. Liviu-Rodrig Bartha, a Romanian who is based in the UK, starts in pole position with 277,140,435. Bartha plus second chip leader Renan Carlos Bruschi (203,120,309), are the only two players returning with more than the average stack of 102,092,772 chips. In fact, their stacks combined are worth more than half of the total chips in play.
Romāns Voitovs (84,694,994), Arturs Balodis (80,143,652) and Janis Loze (75,227,604) have two things in common: They all start middle of the pack and they all hail from Latvia. Meanwhile, Nichita Verbitchii (65,142,112) and Ravil Tlimisov (56,296,816) are both sitting around the 30-big blind mark. Freek Scholten (39,399,748), a Dutch pro who is playing from Austria is one of the most accomplished players still in, but he and Tobias Koerper (39,399,748) have the most work to do with just under 20 ciegas grandes cada uno.
That’s how things stand now but taking a look back at last night and there were 51 jugadores del original 4,600 starters who sat down to play at 7 pm. It would be 12 horas y 23 minutes for the final nine to be reached and Kamilla Olsen (51S t, $9,850) was the first one out.
Artem Vezhenkov exited in 46th por $10,800, Julien Perouse in 36th por $12,200, and Darren Elias, who holds the record for most WPT titles won, won’t be winning his fifth after busting in 29el lugar para $14,100. Other notable casualties of the night were Toby Joyce (28el, $14,100), Michel Dattani (24el, $20,000), Peter Jetten (15el, $27,800) y Faraz Jaka (14el, $27,800).
Getting closer still but falling shortly before the end were partypoker representatives Hristivoje Pavlovic (13el, $27,800), who had started the day with the chip lead, and Roberto Romanello who managed to spin 17 big blinds into an 11th place finish. He takes home $36,700 as a consolation prize for narrowly missing out on that final table, whilst Daniel Montagnolli’s departure in 10th (36,700) signalled the end of the penultimate day.
El juego se reanuda con las ciegas en 1M/2M (250K ante) and players will sit down at 7 pm to continue to battle it out. The final will be streamed with cards-up coverage on the Canal de contracción WPT donde habrá un retraso de una hora. El campeón del WPT, James Dempsey, regresa como anfitrión y estará acompañado por Alex Gray del WPT y el embajador de partypoker Sam Trickett.
All players have secured themselves at least $45,600 for getting this far and, unless a multi-way deal is struck, six of the nine will walk away with a six-figure payday.
