Septiembre se acerca rápidamente, lo que significa que también se acerca nuestro evento anual. Crucero WPT y estoy aún más emocionado que de costumbre. Cada año hemos navegado por el Caribe, pero este año lo mezclamos y navegamos por el Mediterráneo. No puedo empezar a decirles lo emocionado que estoy por esto.
Esta es siempre una semana especial cada año para nosotros. En lugar de una parada en una gira de alto riesgo, son más bien unas vacaciones con una combinación perfecta de torneos y juegos en efectivo competitivos y para toda la familia. Angel ha estado conmigo la mayoría de los años y definitivamente vendrá este año.
Imagínese poder registrarse en su camarote, desempacar su maleta y luego no preocuparse por ello durante el resto de la semana mientras visita tres países europeos con nada más que la bolsa en su hombro antes de regresar al barco cada noche para jugar al póquer. mientras navegas hacia tu próximo destino.
¿Se te ocurren más vacaciones de ensueño?
Está bien, tal vez ir a Las Vegas y sentarse en una mesa final del WPT en HyperX Esports Arena, pero el WPT Cruise puede sentarse con seguridad en un sueño muy cómodo de segundo lugar.
Todo comienza en Barcelona, España. Esta es una de las ciudades más eclécticas en las que he estado, con tapas deliciosas en el Barrio Gótico y posiblemente el mercado más vibrante del mundo en el Mercado de la Boquería. Si nunca has estado en Barcelona deberías hacer lo que estamos haciendo Ángel y yo y pasar unos días allí antes de zarpar. Aquí hay una lista de algunos de mis favoritospots en barcelona.

Domingo
Una vez que desembarquemos, Vince, Tony y yo los recibiremos a todos en una recepción de bienvenida privada. Siempre es agradable reunirse con viejos amigos que se unen a nosotros cada año y conocer nuevos amigos que navegan con nosotros por primera vez. ¿Quizás seas tú? ¡Durante la recepción, disfrutaremos de algunas bebidas y jugaremos un juego en el que el ganador obtendrá su entrada al Evento Principal del Crucero WPT gratis! Después de eso, nos dirigimos a la sala de póquer y jugamos algunas partidas en efectivo durante el resto de la noche. Tengo algo de venganza que ofrecerle a Vince este año.
Lunes
A la mañana siguiente llegaremos a Mallorca, España. No he decidido si pasaremos este día visitando los antiguos castillos y catedrales, relajándonos en alguna de sus famosas playas, o la opción por la que más me inclino es explorar las Cuevas del Drach…las cuevas del dragón. Probablemente debería empezar a ver Juego de Tronos primero, ¿eh?
Once we get back on the boat after our Spanish adventure, we’ll meet up in the poker room for a freeroll tournament filled with WPT Prizes, including a seat in a WPT event! After that, we’ll have dinner in the dining room together before the $400 WPT Cruise Main Event officially begins. Don’t worry if you don’t make it through to Day 2 tonight, as you can try again over the next few nights.

Bonjour! We will be waking up Tuesday in a new country! Marseilles, France. Oui, oui. I’m looking forward to simply listening to everyone speak, and of course a crusty baguette with a glass of French wine. Or two. I’ll either pop over to a quiet village like Cassis or might visit the 19th Siglo Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde. Después de eso, regresaremos al barco para cenar juntos y luego regresaremos a la sala de póquer para más torneos y juegos en efectivo.

This day will be the first of three great Italian ports and, in my opinion, the highlight of the cruise. The first Italian port is La Spezia, which is a short trip to both Pisa and Florence. Whether you want to travel to Pisa and climb the 251 steps of the Leaning Tower (it’s not an optical illusion, it really is leaning), or visit the iconic Duomo in Florence, you can’t really go wrong. As amazing as the leaning tower is to see, my highlight was having a giggle at how many visitors take the same picture, so I snapped this shot while I was there. Speaking of awesome pictures, once we are back on the ship, Vince, Tony and I will be in the poker room ready to take some pics with everyone before we get back to the tables.

Okay now, this vacation is getting REAL. Time to explore one of the most historic cities on the planet — Rome. With ancient structures like the Coliseum, Pantheon and Roman Forum, it really is The Eternal City. Also, a highlight will be taking a tour through Vatican City as I didn’t get a chance to do that last time I visited. There is a lot to do here in one day, so definitely do your research and plan your day! This is not a city to just wing it in. After our incredible day, make sure you get back into the poker room for when we all have a solid chance at taking Vince’s money in his crazy prop bets. This hour of prop bets has always been a favorite on the itinerary with guaranteed laughs. Tonight is the last Day 1 of the Main Event, so anyone who hasn’t made it to Day 2 can give it one last shot.

Habiendo pasado ya dos días en Italia, estoy seguro de que has probado algo de pizza, pero si puedes, espera hasta llegar a la parada de hoy: Nápoles. Es el lugar de nacimiento of pizza and they proudly maintain their reputation. If you love history, the short trip over to Pompeii is like walking back in time. You can walk through the ancient ruins of the city and see how Romans lived two thousand years ago. If you’d prefer the scenic beauty of Capri, you can also take a short boat ride to the majestic island. Once we are back on the boat, it is time for Day 2 of the Main Event! Tonight, we’ll play down to the final table!

En realidad, este es nuestro primer día completo en el mar mientras el barco regresa a Barcelona. Eso significa un merecido descanso en el barco mientras disfrutamos de todas las ofertas de Royal Caribbean, incluidos restaurantes, piscinas, toboganes, bares, gimnasio y más. Pero definitivamente pasa por la sala de póquer, ya que Vince, Tony y yo estaremos comentando en vivo la mesa final del Evento Principal. Incluso puedes participar en el torneo High Roller o en algunas partidas más en efectivo para terminar la semana con una última sesión de póquer, ¡espero que sea ganadora! Para culminar la velada, tendremos una ceremonia de premiación y una recepción de despedida mientras compartimos historias y recapitulamos nuestra increíble semana por el Mediterráneo.

¡Regresaremos a Barcelona a tiempo para tomar más tapas y sangría para el almuerzo y ver todo lo que nos perdimos antes de comenzar nuestra aventura!
Ojalá zarpáramos mañana, pero todavía faltan unos meses para aquellos que todavía no habéis reservado vuestros camarotes. No querrás perderte este viaje, ya que será uno para siempre. Vince, Tony y yo estamos ansiosos por conocerlos. ¡Nos vemos dentro de unos meses en Barcelona!
